The Nothobranchius Symposium is organised every second year and serves as a platform for researchers with an interest in all aspects of Nothobranchius biology, from biomedical to ecological research to meet and discuss ideas.
Original symposium in 2020 was postponed to 2021 and we have decoded that it will be held ONLINE (3-4 June 2021).
We welcome:
- Contributions on any aspect of Nothobranchius biology, using the turquoise killifish (N. furzeri) and other Nothobranchius species as models.
- Contributions on other annual killifish taxa and on topics related to the killifish-based research agenda.
- Those considering using killifish for their future research.
The number of participants is typically 100-200, making the symposia sufficiently small for establishing social contacts and sufficiently large to accommodate all aspects of Nothobranchius biology. We have to wait for standard social contacts to the 5th symposium, but we hope to exchange ideas and refresh our collaborative links during the 2021 symposium.
Specific themes discussed in previous symposia included: Genomics, Transcriptomics and Transgenesis, Proteomics, Epigenetics, Cell Biology, Diapause and Regeneration, Anatomy and Pathology, Ecotoxicology, Metabolism and Behaviour, Ecology and Evolution.
Previous symposia were held in:
- 2018 Cologne, Germany
- 2016 Jena, Germany
- 2014 Pisa, Italy
